How It Came to be: In 1994, a preschool was conceived to offer quality Christian education and to introduce the developmental approach to child learning in the city of Muntinlupa. Six children met five days each week for a 3-hour Vertical Class session in a house located at #6 Hyatt Street, Pleasant Village. The parents of these children were convinced that the approach was holistically beneficial to their kids. This was enough motivation to formally register Muntinlupa School for Child Development (MSCD) with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and with the Department of Education, Culture and Sports (DECS), now called the DepEd.
A year later, additional facilities along Intercon Street were provided to house the increasing number of 3-5 year old children. Meantime, the old house was redesigned and expanded into a four-story building to accommodate the elementary pupils. In 2004, the school opened its doors to high school students. In 2009, the school started mainstreaming children with special needs into the regular class, vis-à-vis the recommendation of a Developmental Pediatrician who serves as our Medical Consultant. The transformation in the lives of these kids only highlights the beneficial effects of a developmental approach to child learning.
Today, the school offers classes up to Grade 10, and for kids with special needs, maintaining a small teacher-pupil ratio for increased interaction. The Master’s School is recognized by the Department of Education at all its levels.
To provide a godly and positive environment to students, parents and teachers to help them gain life skills and values based on the Word of God.
A community of learners and influencers where teachers, students, parents and staff intentionally work as a team so that individual growth can take place in the different aspects of learning
The child is a special person, created in God’s image and is therefore gifted with intellect, emotions and a will. He was meant to know his Creator and to enjoy Him forever. Each child is unique. His talents, abilities and needs differ from others. He deserves the right to be himself in his choices and interests, and to receive justice by not being compared with other children. He is alive whose needs in his physical, social, emotional and mental growth have to be addressed to enable him to function maximally. Every child is spontaneous and unreserved. He is naturally curious and interacts with his environment. He engages in play which serves as a medium for his creativity, problem solving skills, language learning, motor activity and the development of social roles. Lastly, the child is a gift from God, entrusted to the parents for guidance and nurturance in spiritual and moral truths so that he grows with deep love for God, his country and for others.
